One of the hallmarks of the BMW Motorsport Division is a high-revving, naturally aspirated motor that generates, and the machine in various M3s are no exception. The first four-cylinder M3s S14 was replaced by the E36 M3 S50 3.0-liter and slightly larger six cylinder engines Olympus Mju. E36 M3 was introduced in 1994 and was made until 1995.
